The Porto Customs Building (Edifício da Alfândega do Porto) hosted the Gaia-X Summit 2025 on November 20 and 21, under the theme “Digital Ecosystems in Action.”
As the most significant annual event organized by Gaia-X AISBL, this sixth edition was held in partnership with the Gaia-X Hub Portugal, the TICE.PT Association, the Porto Digital Association, and the Porto City Council.
The reception session featured interventions from Gaia-X AISBL, the TICE.PT Association, and the Porto City Council. The Summit’s opening session included the presence of Portugal’s Secretary of State for Digitalization, Bernardo Correia; Anne Le Hénanff, Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs of France (via recorded video); and Thomas Jarzombek, Parliamentary Secretary of State and Federal Minister for Digitalization and Government Modernization of Germany (via remote participation).
Over nearly two days, more than 400 experts from 330 different organizations, representing 36 countries across Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Oceania, and Africa, presented and discussed their ideas and perspectives on the new development phase of Data Spaces.
Unsurprisingly, Portugal had the largest representation with nearly 90 participants, the vast majority of whom were from companies not associated with Gaia-X. Following Portugal, the most representative delegations were from France, Germany, Spain, and Belgium.
In a session reserved for Portuguese projects, the Data Spaces-X TestBed and the ATE and TEXP@CT Agendas were presented—all of which are projects funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
The ILLIANCE Agenda was featured at the TICE.PT Association stand with its official roll-up. Throughout the two-day event, a team involved in the Agenda's dissemination and promotion activities was present to provide information to interested contacts.
