The Biosensors 2025 Conference was held in Lisbon, Portugal, between 19 and 22 May, celebrating the 35th anniversary of the world congress on biosensors. For over 30 years, this meeting has catalysed interactions to promote this constantly expanding field. Biosensors harness the sophisticated recognition capabilities of biological systems and combine them with physical-chemical transducers to provide simple, easy-to-use diagnostic systems for an ever-increasing range of applications, with the aim of improving health, well-being and the environment.

Sónia O. Pereira and Laura Ferreira, both from the University of Aveiro, presented their work in poster format: ‘A comparison of non-enzymatic and enzymatic electrochemical biosensors based on laser-induced graphene for glucose detection’ by authors Sónia O. Pereira, Maria Fidalgo Joana Roque, António Teixeira, and Nuno Santos.  Florinda M. Costa, and ‘Exploring Impedimetric Immunosensors for the detection of urinary PSA’ by Laura Ferreira, Florinda Costa, Sónia Pereira, António Teixeira, Mara Freire, Francisca Silva, and Nuno Santos, all from the University of Aveiro. This action was part of WP 4 – Proj. 20 ‘OLI Health’.
